The all-round option

The all-round option

The world of cruising and cruise ships can be a complicated one. There’s so much to choose from that anyone can get lost trying to pick the best cruise to go on. Even if price isn’t a concern, you’ll still get lost in all of that variety and even with all the different options within each cruise ship. For example, some people know that they get the best out of a cruise by taking part in the activities present on the ship, so they know they can save up on having a luxurious room, since they won’t be spending a lot of time there. Others know that they will spend most of their time enjoying the off-boat activities and visiting the ports, so they get a package that allows them to do so with little extra expenses. But if you’re a first time cruise goer, you won’t be sure as to what you will enjoy the most. For those people, getting a cruise package deal is probably the best option. This will allow you to experience the most out of your cruise without having to pay any extra money. And once you’re done, you’ll have a better idea of what you like and dislike and you’ll be able to program your next cruise accordingly.

Hotel Deals and Deal Breakers

Hotel Deals and Deal Breakers

When it comes to picking a hotel, there are some things that should give you a bright green light to go ahead and book a room and take a rest, while others are definite red flags that, at least, deserve some closer investigation.

A lot of red flags are, however, country dependent, as politically incorrect as it may sound. If I see a website or get a flying about luxury hotels Warwickshire, I pretty much take it as being true. If it’s an email talking about luxury hotels in Aruba or in Jamaica, I will be looking into what their concept of “luxury” is.

Other things deserve a definite second glance. For example, if I’m told that a hotel is in a nice neighborhood in a small town in Spain, I’ll totally believe it. But if it claims to be a safe neighborhood “just outside” the center of a large capital like Athens or London, then I’m going to be reading reviews and looking at the location on Google maps.

Speaking of reviews, they are your best friend. Especially the reviews on Google, since those are less likely to be forged. But the best advice is to follow your intuition. If a deal looks too good to be true, it probably is.

Navigating Heathrow

Navigating Heathrow

Heathrow Airport is one of the largest and busiest airports on the continent. Almost every airline comes through this airport, which means you’ll at least have a layover in Heathrow at one point. If your journey takes you through this popular London airport, there’s a few things you should know.

If you’re heading out of the airport, you can enjoy one of the many cheap hotels at Heathrow Airport. This is ideal if you have a long layover, and would like to catch up on some sleep while you wait. These hotels are easily accessible by complimentary shuttles. Public transportation in and out of the airport is also very simple. Metro and bus will take you there from the city center, and run at convenient hours. Taxis are also easy to find and conveniently located near all terminals.

Getting in between terminals is also easy. Clear and easy to navigate paths have been created to guide you in between one of the many terminals Heathrow has. Most of the terminals can be reached by walking, but some can be reached by bus or train. This is a quick and efficient way to get to your next gate within the airport.

Rent or Buy?

Rent or Buy?

A lot of people have this notion that if you’re going to use a car for a week and then just dispose of it, you’re better off buying a cheap car, driving wherever you want to go and then sell it at your destination than renting one. Well, this couldn’t be farther from the truth.

Unless you’re lucky enough to buy a car for 200 dollars that’ll miraculously run for more than 10 miles without breaking down, let alone between cities, and then manage to sell it back for the same price, the possibilities of something going wrong with that plan are astronomical. And with all the car hire deals that rental car companies offer all the time, you’ll be hard pressed not to find something that works out perfectly for you.

The piece of mind of driving a car that’s safe should be enough to make you take the renting road, but if not consider this. The odds of someone wanting to buy from you the car that you just bought on a whim and that now has had a couple of hundred miles added to the total are very low. You’ll probably end up selling it to a dealer for little to no money, or selling it for parts.

Travel Tips for Your Vacation

Travel Tips for Your Vacation

Travel TipsIf you have plans of spending your vacation overseas, there are a few tips which you can apply in order to lessen your travel expenses and enjoy your trip to the fullest without having to worry about your budget.

You can follow these tips for a worry-free travel:

  • Bear in mind that bringing along too much luggage will just make your vacation more expensive. It is advisable to carry a small luggage, much better if it will weigh below the baggage limit so that you will not have to pay for the excess and you will have extra space for some souvenir items that you will bring home. To make things easier, there are suitcases now that have a built-in scale, it can automatically calculate the baggage weight as soon as you load your things in it.
  • Prepare your own food and take it with you on the plane. Pack it nicely, make it look like the one that is actually served on the plane. Bringing your own foodstuff will save you some money and you’ll never go hungry too.
  • As for the drinks, resist from ordering it on the plane. Order a drink at the airport rather than spend another buck on the airplane.
  • Bring a simple hand baggage as you travel and make sure that you conform with the airline rules. By doing this, you will not be hassled throughout the hand luggage checks, plus, nobody will question you or ask for explanations.
  • When traveling, it will be easier to bring along disposable items such as the towels and some other things that you can leave behind. That way, you will have more space in your luggage when you go back home.
  • Last but not the least, don’t forget to bring some reading materials like a book, this will help you pass the time especially if there will be delays with your flight.
