A visit to Santa’s Cabin

A visit to Santa’s Cabin

It’s the dream of many small children, to visit Santa’s cabin and talk to him in person. You might think this is just a nice idea but this type of visit is possible, if you can get far enough north.  There is a winter wonderland located in Lapland where parents can bring their kids for a day of snow play and each child will talk with Santa individually.

Holidays to Lapland offer short breaks where snowmobiles, reindeer and huskies can be part of your visit. Winter is a magical time and where better to spend it than in the snow making snowmen and taking part in a all-out snowball fight.

Parents can act like kids too and join in and there are special savings for grandparents who will join you.  Your kids will have the time of their life and will remember this trip for years to come.  Parents love to create memories that their kids can pass on to their kids one day, and it can certainly include a visit to Santa’ cabin. The spirit of Christmas is a lovely one and there is nothing better than waking on Christmas morning to find you are in the middle of a White Christmas.

Yachtmaster Motor Boating

Yachtmaster Motor Boating

For long boating trips it is suggested that you apply and pass for a RYA Yachtmaster certificate, which is looked on as one of the best RYA training exams you can take. The certificate and relevant qualifications are recognised by organisations and employers all around the world, giving you many more boating and sailing options. You will learn how to handle the boat, training in navigation, the rules and safety as part of the IRPS (Collision regulations) and signalling and sailing meteorology. The Yachtmaster Motor qualification is highly aimed at people with a few years experience of boat operating as a skipper or a navigator, a first aid certificate held for a minimum of three years is also required. You must also be fully qualified in RYA VHF, RYA yachtmaster theory. Once passed this qualification could lead to becoming part of a superyauct crew, mca deck officer and a huge range of off sure industries, as they look for this qualification when employing candidates. Hopefully by taking this course you will learn alot more boating skills that will lead to a great leap in your hobby, career or general boating for the rest of your life. Sailing and boating is a fantastic way to see your country and the rest of the world.

Summer In The Country

Summer In The Country

Summers can be a fabulous time in the UK – particularly the countryside, where you can avail yourself of activities such as kayaking, windsurfing, fishing and swimming. Prefer to relax and unwind? Maybe a spa treatment or pint at the local pub calls to you. The biggest surprise to most first-time visitors is just how extensive the opportunities for leisure can be. Another surprise is when would-be vacationers discover that summer holidays in the UK need not break your budget.

Whether travelling solo, or with family or friends – an extensive holiday, or even an expanded weekend can be just the break needed from the bustle of everyday life. Or if you choose to make yours a learning vacation you could set your sights on horseback riding lessons, archery classes, learning badminton or table tennis – so many options.

If you are artistically inclined there are few things to compare with the dappled country light streaming through a forest of trees – grab you camera or brushes and canvas and create what your heart calls you to. The beauty of a proper country get-away is that your time can be spent as actively or leisurely as you wish – this is your time.

But if you require a little guidance on how to while away your time you can also choose guided literary tours, visits to study architectural charms, or hop a train to a neighboring county or even beautiful Edinburgh. Again, it’s up to you.  So what will you choose, time in the city, country, or both? With such deals out there to be had there’s rarely been a better time to try it all.

Tour the Thames

Tour the Thames

Taking a tour up the river Thames is an old favorite of the English, and something that is a lot of fun. So now we’re recommending it to everyone reading this. And don’t worry if you don’t have your sea legs or get boat sick easily: the Thames isn’t exactly a complicated river to navigate nor do you need to do this tour by boat. In fact, most people do it by car.

If you don’t own your own car, the best thing to do it to go down to Kent and rent a car in a Kent car hire company close to either your hotel or to where you’re taking the train or bus back to London. You’ll thank me for this later, because car hires in London are much more expensive.

From then on, the ride should be smooth as you move up the river. When passing London, the river goes right by the Houses of Parliament and the London Eye, but you’re probably tired of London already, so let’s move on.

One of the coolest things about the Thames is its islands. One of the prettiest ones, and my personal favorite, is Temple Island, where the Henley Royal Regatta starts.
